acted on behalf of over 100 Claimants in the successful
Hepatitis Multi-party Action against the National Blood
Authority (NBA). the Hepatitis case is the leading authority
on the Consumer Protection Act (CPA) 1987, with its emphasis
on the interpretation of the European Directive Implemented
in the UK by the CPA.
Blaine
Ward is a CEDR Accredited Mediator and founder member
of The Association of Northern Mediators. He is also a
member of The Employment Lawyers Association and sits
on the Civil Court Users Committee in Newcastle upon Tyne.
As well as his personal injury work, Blaine also has expertise
in employment related disputes - where he acts for both
employers and employees. He also acts for both claimants
and defendants in the field of professional negligence.
Blaine
is personally retained by a well known Multi National
Food Production and Processing conglomerate and has acted
for a number of the U.K's major insurers in the resolution
of complex and high value disputes as well as acting in
his capacity as mediator in similarly complex disputes.

concluded/ongoing in the last 12 months include -
- Acting
for infant brain damaged in Road Traffic Accident .
Case settled immediately before final hearing for £2.8
million, £1.5 million of which was by way of a
structured settlement. During the course of this claim,
interim payments of £450,000 obtained and applied
towards new home and equipment.
- Acting
for defendant motor insurer in case to trial involving
multiple victims of a fatal road traffic accident.
- Acting
for claimant injured in RTA along with 4 other members
of his family. Interim payments were obtained to enable
the family to relocate to new accommodation adapted
for claimants needs. Ongoing support to claimant and
family to ensure claimants future needs are fully compensated.
